Scorp and Wolfy probably wouldn't be so averse to letting you come back to SSLF if you weren't such an asshole about it all the time.

This is the internet, being an asshole sometimes is required. Besides, it's not like they were all nice to me and stuff, never were.

Not that it matters, because I'm never going back there. I have found other places, like flickr, tumblr, and this here (which may not be much, but it's enough). And guess what, none of these places will slap me if I use harsh language or post 'not-meant-for-kiddies' material (by which I do not mean porn, btw, you don't share porn).
Being an asshole is never a requirement. That goes for anything, not just the internet. And trust me, I have known the members of SSLF for more years than almost every other guy there. Many people go on hiatuses or stop being active for long periods of time, or maybe they only stay around for a year or so. I've been there for around eight years, and I am constantly active. The reason I bring this point up is to say that I have never seen any members of the administration act in a manner that would warrant them being called dictators (although that would make sense given the fact that they PAY for the site).

And honestly dude, how have you ever thought that swearing or posting suggestive images would be acceptable on a LEGO website? Oh sure, there are other things there, but most members join because of Scorp's brick creations. I can check the lego area daily and find new kids who just discovered the site. Legos are toys, toys for KIDS. Don't be a moron and post those kinds of things in such a place! Would you draw a dick out of chalk at the elementary playground? No, because that would make you a dumbass.

Let me just say this, you keep acting like you don't want to go back, but in the end you join every subforum that crops out where certain groups of SSLFers drift to. You don't want to say it, so you make it sound like your too good for SSLF. Well, you certainly seem to like us enough to keep lurking around.

So, today...

I worked.

I had a friend betray me.

I got hopeful about something, but probably shouldn't get too hopeful because it'll end in my having been hopeful for nothing.

I reconnected with a friend I haven't talked to in a while.

I got tired, posted this, and decided to go to sleep soon.

Yup.

Please don't say that Muffo. I've really enjoyed your RP's and I want people to stick around so that we can get something off the ground. Don't leave just because of Nirdy. I know I haven't been on SSLF much and don't know a lot about the drama behind this, but please reconsider. With Merc gone, we need a leader and everyone always looks up to you, bro. I love this forum because its always a nice place to just vent and post stuff for others to read. Maybe if we just had a forum-wide vote to find an RP that we can all agree on or something. That could be just what we need.

SSLF is a station far behind me on my journey through time and internet, never to be revisited.

I am getting too poetic here... Yep, sleep is in order.

I've always wondered, but never thought to ask...

What, exactly, happened between you and SSLF, Nirdie? If you don't wanna answer, I understand, but I've been dying of curiosity ever since I learned you were banned.
Let's see, he swore constantly, argued with the administration to no end, refused to accept half of the rules, and eventually ended up creating an alt or two when he was temp banned. In short, he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

And Nirdian, you talk as if no one was ever nice to you despite the fact that your warn meter was reduced at least a dozen times (yes I am looking at your warn logs right this moment, and yes I did read all the entries and counted the number of warn reductions), and even when you were banned Scorp and Wolfy let you stay so that you could finish any RPs you were in. Of course, then you went and blew that by trying to to sign up for new RPs so that you could stick around forever. Don't say the administration was never nice to you.

The fact that they put up with your shit for as long as they did is a kindness by itself. Really, all you had to do was shut your mouth. Do you think everyone on SSLF likes the rules? You think everyone there likes every single rule? I don't even like every single rule, and I'm the one who's supposed to be enforcing them. Just about everyone else on SSLF has accepted by now that swearing isn't allowed, and they don't let that silly little rule completely destroy their enjoyment of the forum because they're actually mature individuals who don't need to say fuck to get their giggles. If you don't like the rules then fine, you don't have to, but you don't flat-out argue with the people who run the forum just because you want to post animations of waffles having sex (which, apparently, you did at some point, which is sad).

If you didn't like SSLF, if it was so beneath you to begin with, then you should've just left on your own, instead of incessantly bitching and moaning over every little warn and chewing-out you received for not following the rules which you agreed to follow when you joined the forum. If you really wanted a place where you could discuss more mature subject matter, then you should've found a new place. You shouldn't have tried to convince everyone that SSLF should be such a place.

I don't care if you're glad that you were banned from SSLF, or if you consider that part of your "internet journey" well behind you. I don't care if you never want to visit SSLF again, but for the love of (oh no I can't say God because that would offend you for some reason!), stop bitching about it. And do not act like Scorp, or Wolfy, or any of the members of the administration ever wronged you in any way, because they didn't. If you didn't like SSLF then you should really be grateful that they banned you, right? You broke the rules. An innumerable amount of times. You can only get yourself banned, and that's exactly what you did. You can be proud of yourself for that if you really want, but don't go around claiming you hated SSLF and then act like you were somehow violated by being banned.

Fuck this. This forum's next to dead, and I only stuck around this long out of loyalty to Mercutio. He's long gone now, and if the only thing that separates this place from SSLF now is the ability to swear and the presence of this douchebag, then I really don't feel like sticking around anymore. Enjoy your time with Nirdian, guys. He's a super cool dude.

...

And here I was thinking that you were cool and a friend.

All that was about 3 years ago, I was new to the internet and... You know what, I did break the rules. And I was banned, and I'm still angry about that, since I got about 5 warns on one day for things that had happened months apart and had not been mentioned in any sort of way.

Anyway, I have grown, learned and still hold my grudges, that doesn't take away that 91 people are dead in my home country, and that my grandfather, who I consider my closest friend is dying of cancer, AFTER he and everyone else had thought that, with the tumor completely removed he had been cured.

Fuck this shit, I'm sick of all of you, no one gives a single fuck about anything I say or do. Everyone I ever considered a friend or was fan of turns out to be a complete and utter asshole and...

Muffy, I loved your RPs and I had fun. But now you are the last drop. You've done it, you've destroyed my life, my mind, my happiness. Crushed, gone. I hope you're proud of yourself.

I may have contact with Tuberz through flickr, and with Vorgain through tumblr, if they haven't shunned me by now as well, anyway. The rest of you, goodbye.

Post  Lord Wiffilius Mon Jul 25, 2011 11:25 am

Wow, lot's of stuff happened while I was in Orlando. This forum's Merc's off-grid, and Muffo as apparently quit sooooo... I guess that's that? Things could kind of sort of go to hell real fast without members with admin-access. I have a Spruz Project if you guys want to check that out. http://hearthfire.spruz.com/Default.asp?

Anyway, about my weekend. I've been at Universal and Islands of Adventure for the past two days.

Universal: Okay, so I'm not one for roller coasters a all that, but I really loved the atmosphere and different cultures. There were groups from Brazil (<3), China, and at least four other Lativan or Asian countries. Most of the people I walked past weren't speaking english. I almost asked some Brazllian girls to swing dance while the Blues Brothers were playing but then they rushed off to ride The Mummy while I was en route. By the way, I dislike The Mummy. It's fast, dark, twisty, and cheesy. ALL of these mini-coasters have the same procedure! "Oh hey guys! Ready for the tour? We'll just walk in hear and... OH GOD ITS A TRAP AND THIS IS A TRAP TOO AND WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE- oh hey it's over... JUST KIDDING GET READY TO REPEAT WHAT YOU JUST DID EXCEPT FASTER DARKER AND MORE TWISTYNESS!"

I will say that I LOVED Disaster. Getting a tour of a filming scene lead by Christopher Walken and then doing the little disaster ride thing? Fun. The humor was great though.
Okay, we're going through the safety checklist now. Keep all hands and feet inside the subway car at all times, and there's about ten other things I have to cover but we're out of time so enjoy!"

I also got to visit my aunt because she works one of the shops in the parks. She also let me use her 35% off employee discount for some mech.

So the next day we did Islands of Adventure. We had the express pass, so seeing a line with a 75 minute wait line was challenge to see how many times we could ride in 75 minutes. It was fun running past the regular line making wooshing sounds and laughing Razz We did Jurassic Park twice (for some reason, 'm fiune with water rides, even the ones with drops. Idk, the water is like a big wet hug that relaxes me) We did Rip-Saw Falls twice, The river-Rapids three times (once with some brazillian girls in white teeshirts (: ) I did Spiderman twice (SO MUCH FUN) and The Forbidden Journey at Harry Potter twice. Overall, my favorite one was The Forbidden Journey. It was just really fun and clever. We ate at The Three Broomsticks (AMAZING) and the Hardrock Cafe. Butterbeer is awesome, as is Pumpkin Juice.

Anyway, I'd ask how ya'll have been, but it seems pretty apparent...

So, yesterday, I got to catch up with an old friend. She'd been in Thailand with her boyfriend that hates me. (Whaddaya gonna do? *shrug*)

Anyway, she's an incredible art student. So, naturally, we did some pretty neat stuff. (Okay, yeah, it was glorified "dress-up," but I got some really kick-ass pictures out of it.)

I only uploaded two to Flickr, but there's a crapton more on Photobukkit.

There's just me. I like that one (we all had a chance to wear that costume, by the way. And yes, it even looked good on the girls).

And here's one that looks like it could be the cover of a book, or something:

The Aristocrat, the Musician, and the Pirate Wench.
Next novel title, right there.

Hey, so I feel kind of bad about the way I left and I sort of realized that just up and leaving was kind of a dick move on my part, considering all of you guys did nothing wrong and I really have nothing at all against this forum. It was childish for me to just bail like that and leave this place behind after all of you guys put up with me for so long and participated in all of my crummy attempts at experimental RPs. I like hanging out with you guys here and just having everyday conversations, tossing ideas back and forth to build on concepts for stories and such. I stand by the things I said, but my overall reaction was inappropriate and poorly assessed on my part. I still want to be a part of Three Mile Island, for as long as we can keep it running without Merc's presence, anyway.

Besides, I posted that RP idea I had on SSLF and the only people who showed any interest were members of this forum. Rolling Eyes

And don't I know it. I finally got some interest in a Writing Challenge and finally got an official RP thread, only to have it abandoned. I don't think that concept will ever work. ;_;

Anyway, It's good to see you again, Muffo. Thank you for coming back. I missed you. What a Face I really like your RP's and I hope you'll keep making them with us. Matter of fact, I think we chould try to go back to our old RP's or start a new one to celebrate.

On a side note, should I go get Nirdian back? I can find him on Tumblr and drag him back here kicking and screaming if you want. Wink
Personally I don't think it'll be the same without him. We need our silly Norwegian person back.

Also Tehwilburforce, I don't think you should. It always annoyed me how every sub-forum of SSLF was full of annoying banned members like him.

He never was a problem on here. I understand if he bugged you on SSLF, but what we did scared him away from one of the only places he could call home on this vast desert island called the internet (especially after being banned). Think about it. Would you rather post stuff on a Tumblr and a Flickr account and wait all day for people to comment on it, or would you rather interact with people on a forum like this? Right now, most likely, all Nirdy has to do right now is the former. If people strongly object to it, then that's fine; I won't go get him. I'm just trying to be kind to someone who I feel is a rightful member of this forum family.

Wilbur. As a member of Flickr and here, I can fully say that my Flickr account is easily five times more active than this forum is. I think we let sleeping dogs lie.

And no, I'm not abandoning my Writing Challenge. Not yet. I'm just a really sucky DM.
(But, if you don't want it to go become dead, then maybe you should go do something for the love of God so I don't feel so worthless and incompetent.)

Post  Grombrindal Thu Aug 04, 2011 6:03 pm

Whew, long time no post.

So one of our tutors/lecturers mentioned NaNoWriMo the other day, which prompted me to think about entering it. Based on a quick calculator check, I'd need to write about 1667 words a day to make the 30-day deadline, which sounds doable. My biggest issue will stem from the fact my exams are smack-bang in the middle of November (the exam period starts on the 5th and goes till the 19th), but I should only have two exams to do and if I start planning in advance, I'd probably be able to save myself some work later down the track.

I know MTP and Vorgy participated last year; any plans to do it again, guys? Maybe we could establish a support group (WriMo's Anonymous? Razz) once the thing starts and comfort each other. Razz

YYEEESSSSSS

I really, really want to try it again this year. And I encourage anyone who has a novel idea banging around in their head to do so, as well. However, like Vorgy said, I'd have to see what my school schedule is in November.
BUT.
I wrote a novel while I was:

  • applying for colleges
  • getting my Eagle
  • entertaining guests
  • doing six AP classes
  • marching in a competitive 5A marching band
  • managing a long-running RP over on SSLF

Among other things. And this year, I'll only be in college (there is no band in my college and I already got my Eagle; granted, I'll be taking 14 hours of college classes...).
So I really hope I can; Hell, I've already got my novel planned out.

IT IS DONE

It only took me, like, four months.
Anyway, this is my finished MSM - 03 Gogg Principality of Zeon Mass Production Aquatic Mobile Suit 1/100th scale Master Grade model kit COMPLETED.
I added the rivets and a custom paint job. I wanted it to look like it was from the World War II era (like, as in, Weird War II :O ).

Yeah, I enjoyed it lots. It doesn't really lend itself to many poses, though.

I haven't got a novel planned, but I think I will try to write one. I might just write about my friends and I. If we could have a support group, that would be great. We could help cure each other's writer's block and stuff like that.

Also, MTP, you had better join the pep band for basketball if they have one, cuz that's the only band experience they have there and I'm pretty sure you can't survive without band (and I might want someone I know to be there with me if I start going to UTD and join the band, but that's besides the point. Ahem...)

So, tonight was another one of the famous Baritone Night.
I was still invited (despite having graduated) because I haven't left for college yet. Anyway, I got to see my old Baritone Freshmen and Sophomores and Juniors, except now they're Sophomores and Juniors and Seniors. It was really great to see how they're getting along without me, but still remember who I am. I was proud of them.
Also, I got to meet some of the Freshmen. I knew one from Scouts, but I didn't know the girl fish. I can tell she's gonna be a real firecracker and Hell to the next Section Leader after me.

Heh, heh, heh.

My best friend is awesome. Jusy sayin'.

And work was Hell today. A ten hour shift. Hell, I tell ye.

Oh, and, I'm halfway through Dance With Dragons and it's epic.

Other than that, I'm the same.

Razz

I'm planning on doing it. I already have two novels planned out, I just have to choose.
